24 Jun Pentins swing it for Porchlight
They say that business is done on the golf course, well golfers were in the business of giving at the Pentins Porchlight Golf day at Princes Golf Club in Sandwich.
After the obligatory bacon sandwiches, 20 hardy golfers braved windy conditions to compete in team and singles competitions and a beat the pro challenge.
The golf was followed by dinner, a raffle and auction which all contributed to raising £1,399.24 for the homeless charity.
Joanne Spiteri Partnerships Manager at Porchlight praised the golfers for their generosity. “Everyone who came had a positive attitude, they wanted to get involved in everything and grabbed with both hands every opportunity to donate their hard earned cash!”
Joanne also commended Chris Dodd of Pentins for his efforts in pulling the event together. “Chris was so enthusiastic, he even had his kids helping with collections!”
“It was a great day. The participants were very generous and Princes couldn’t have been more helpful. Pentins is really pleased to be helping a very important local charity.” Chris responded. “It was a quite small event this year but great fun and very positive. I’m sure it will become a fixture in the Pentins calendar and will grow and grow.”
